Cover Reveal: The Rogue's Ring by author Nancy Lee Badger

Life happens when you are making other plans.

My plans tend to go by the wayside. My third full-length book in my Treasure Tales series, following The Earls Treasure and The Dukes Diamond, was on the calendar to be released in early January 2023. The plot takes place starting on New Years Day 1817 amid snow surrounding the Bellmeer Estate in Northern England. The next day, my hero and some friends head into Scotland to follow a treasure and reunite nobles with their stolen signet rings.

What happened to my proposed book's release day you ask?

I had cataract surgeries December 12th and January 30th which should have occurred November 28 and December 12th. If the original plan happened, my eyesight would have been perfect and the last edits and the book's release would occur on schedule. Because the first eye was delayed (someone in the surgeon's family got Covid), he could not do my second surgery until the end of January. In those six weeks between surgeries, I could not read, write, or drive. Add to this a member of my family coming down with Covid in early January that put her in the hospital and you can imagine my priorities had changed.

So, I decided to let fate take my lemons and give me lemonade (sugar-free, of course) I took my time editing my book, and created a cover that continued the theme of the series. My thanks to Kim Killion at The Killion Group Images for wonderful subjects that fit my vision of the main characters.

COVER REVEAL for YULETIDE KISSES

Earlier this year, I agreed to write a story to be included in an ebook antholgy with three other authors. I have done things like this in the past, but this is the first time we are all writing brand new stories with a general theme: Medieval romances set during Yuletide (more contemporarily known as the Christmas holiday season).

My story is set on the shores of Scotland's North Sea and is titled A Gift from the Sea. Here is the plot:

Gwyn’s life changes the moment the naked sailor on the beach opens his eyes. Helping him hide from the others and getting him to safety in her barn goes awry when strangers attack. Did they follow Monroe? Leaving her home was the right thing to do, but meeting his wealthy friend proves embarrassing to a farm girl. A chance meeting with a neighbor gives Monroe the wrong idea, and he leaves. When she follows him, we find her begging for Monroe’s life.

  

A shipwrecked son of a clan chieftain, Monroe hides his full identity from the young lass who saves him from the waves, and her brothers. An attack by seafaring warriors puts all their lives in danger and the resulting deaths place a shadow over the upcoming Christmas Festivities. Leading Gwyn and her family toward his home far from the coast of Scotland’s North Sea could be a mistake, yet be the only way to keep them all alive.

Cover Reveal CLAN OF DRAGONS Boxed Set

Summer starts this month, although temperatures around the south have been climbing since March. Flag Day is June 14th here in America, and our yard is dotted with small flags. Our youngest son's birthday is coming (need to change those lottery numbers!) That's right...I almost forgot...our son was born on Father's Day way back, but it's not on the same day this year. 

My hubby and I will be celebrating another anniversary and it happens to fall on Father's Day this year. That day, June 19th, is also being called JUNETEENTH and I am working to understand its true meaning. 

I believe this fairly new Federal Holiday is called: Juneteenth National Independence Day; Jubilee Day; Emancipation day; Freedom Day; and Black Independence Day.

It's a busy month so I thought I should do something simple. Today I am releasing the cover of the upcoming boxed set called Clan of Dragons. Two novellas and three full-length stories are together and will be released on July 8th. The boxed set is over 800 pages and will be available in ebook.

You are very welcome. You mentioned that you decided to remake a few covers. That is a bold step. Please explain, plus tell my readers 3 things they might not know about you.

I began to understand that the previous version of the cover was not giving readers the correct impression of the type of stories Calculated and Driven were. I wanted something that was fresh, more streamlined and modern. I think the new covers are a nice compliment to the writing style now. 

1. I'm a total lipgloss addict!

2. I love to travel and am always plotting adventures. 

3. I tend to get a lot of satisfaction from life's little ironies.

COVER REVEAL: My Reluctant Highlander

It has been a long time coming, but I am proud to announce the release of my third book in the

Highland Games Through Time series.

 

MY RELUCTANT HIGHLANDER returns five years later to the fictional New England Highland Games and follows Skye Gunn, sister to the Gunn laird, and Jake Jamison, a present day blacksmith. Though this is the final book in the series, I plan to write several novellas using secondary characters, like a TV show spin-off.
