Can Autumn be Far Behind?

As the days shorten and the heat slowly dissipates, family vacations are being squeezed into the last sunny days of summer. Labor Day in America is Monday September 2nd, this year. This holiday dedicated to America's tireless workers is considered the official end of summer and the beginning of 'the fall.' Nights get cooler even if the days still remain hot, but the promise of being able to open windows and rely less on our A/C units is something to look forward to.

Do not fret! There are plenty of days to take a moment and smell whatever flowers made it through the heat__drought__hurricane (circle whichever makes sense.) Go to the beach, wear sandals, eat ice cream, and READ A BOOK. May I suggest these romance novels?

Where has the Summer Gone?

We've reached the middle of August and the dog days of summer are howling. I just saw a sign in a store saying they'd be closed on September 4th. Took me a while to figure out why. Labor day is coming!

What have you accomplished this summer?

Did you travel now that the Covid-19 Pandemic is history?

Are you packing and planning to head back to college?

Are you house shopping? (Good luck- prices and mortgage rates have risen)

Have you finished that fabulous beach read?

My summer ran off the rails that day in May when I fell and broke my wrist and five ribs. Good News! My doctor took a last set of x-rays and said I was healed! My last physical therapy session for my wrist was last Wednesday.

This fall is looking brighter and better with traveling on my mind!

August Already?

The dog days of summer are upon us. How can it be August already? The Labor Day Holiday in the United States, celebrated this year on September 5th, is right around the corner. Back-to-school sales fill the stores and a few have been putting up Halloween decorations. Can Christmas be far behind?

Recently author Donna Steele and I held a Christmas in July promotion that was fun and eventful. I love Christmas, but I am not in a hurry for winter. However, launching my new boxed set was the intention and it worked. Find all Buy Links for Clan of Dragons HERE.

Are you an author? Do you have a backlist? Check out my article over at the FF&P Blog titled Turning Backlists to Boxed Sets.

So, during August I head outside each morning, surrounded by nature, and read a book. Once the temperature hits 82F, I have to go back inside, but the morning air is invigorating. I do long for the simple days when we had a Golden Retriever puppy and we lived near the beach. I keep those memories alive. I hope your memories are as well.

In the meantime, READ!

Lovin' Summer and a Book

I am headed to the gym to exercise (with mask) then take a dip in their indoor pool (without a mask). I use a noodle to continue my exercises instead of swimming laps (I like to keep my glasses on).

I grew up near the water on the north side of Long Island and the summer was also filled with a carload of kids heading to Fire Island. Love me some waves!

Our move to North Carolina has placed us a good 4 hours from the ocean, so the salt water pool is a fine substitute.

Labor Day here in the US is the official end of summer and it falls on September 6th. Besides READING BOOKS ALL SUMMER, what are you doing to keep your self active and healthy?

psst. my novella LOVE, HAMISH is now available IN PRINT. it is a sweet historical romance and can fill those summer evenings.

Stay safe!

Wherever you travel this Labor Day weekend, be

safe...and here is a quote to take along.
