Lori Hayes Keizer saved my life. Really. My mind was crushed under the stress of everyday living. I needed a break and her phone call came at the right time.
Am I over-exaggerating? You bet. My life is DULL! Things could be much worse, and--if the Powerball Ticket would do what it is supposed to do--I should be rich. I have a comfortable life; I make my own hours; I share my home with a wonderful husband and a 14 pound orange tabby named Blaze; one of my sons lives near by; my two sisters live very close; and I had four of my novels published in 2010.
Lori asked me to again accompany her to Emerald Isle for the weekend and off we went, Laptops packed, and $$ for meals in our pocket. Gas was much higher than last visit, but this I feel such an expense is part of the cost of my chosen career as a published author.
Writing near the sea is uplifting, and the borrowed mobile home was perfect. We ate, watched 'Eat, Pray, Love' and wrote. Walking on the beach on Sunday ended the weekend on a high note.
I came home refreshed, invigorated, and found that my husband really missed me! Thanks Lori, and all my love to your Mom.
