E-Books Help Earth Day All Year

I loved the Kindle I owned, then found I could send the same books I buy to my Android Smart Phone. Now, I take books everywhere.

Waiting in a medical office? READ! Waiting in the airport Cell Lot for a relative to land? READ! Want to read outside or so you don't disturb your partner with a exterior light in a dark room? READ on a device that has its own light.

I still prefer the written book in print, but even I have problems holding a heavy hardcover book at times. Also, the words seem to be getting smaller! Another plus for reading via a Kindle or Smart Phone is that you can enlarge the size of the words.

Amazon sells the Kindle, Barnes & Noble has the Nook Book, and Apple does it all. Whichever way you like to read, you might find you can read a new favorite for a lot less than a printed book. My published books are discounted because an ebook is cheaper for a distributor to distribute.

But...please remember. It still takes the author the same amount of time to create the story. You will get all their hard work whichever way you buy it. You are buying the same sweat, creativity, hours of work, editing, and more.

For EARTH DAY 2026 I am reminding you of my published  ebooks available now at great, low prices and instantly downloaded to your device.

Check them all out on my Blog BOOK Page HERE.

Here are a few examples of ebooks you might like:

So, whatever you plan to do to celebrate Earth Day 2026 which falls on Wednesday April 22nd this year, remember that caring for our planet can include saving a tree all year long by READING AN E-BOOK!

Another FULL February

We have a busy, busy month and the top three on my mind are

Ground Hog Day

The Super Bowl

Valentine's Day

The Super Bowl is held Sunday evening, February 9th, and we will watch from the comfort of our den as the Philadelphia Eagles take on the Kansas City Chiefs. I will keep the name of my favorite team to myself as my choice usually loses.

Valentine's Day is for romance and chocolate. I am hoping for a little of both, but that's my secret (the chocolate part? I will keep it from my doctor.) Does anyone else besides me like white chocolate? I bought a brick in Concord, New Hampshire from the Common Man Restaurant. Delish!

Also, did you know that several of my boxed sets
are free with Kindle Unlimited?

And several ebooks sell for only $2.99 (US)?

Please check them all out HERE

Ground Hog Day is a memorable one for not-so-good reasons. My wonderful dad passed away on that day six years ago, yet it feels like yesterday. Last Sunday, Ground Hog Day, my son fell off a ladder. Is it sad that I know how to get to the Emergency Room at the nearest hospital? All turned out well for him, but will I recall the date for years to come? Yes!

I am back writing more stories in tribute to my mom who has persevered and continued to be in our lives, even though the love of her life is gone. We are fortunate to have her nearby and happy.

Enjoying the Dog Days of Summer?

I do not own a dog. Love dogs, don't get me wrong, but we plan to travel a lot in the coming years. I will leave the care and feeding of all pets to the younger folks! Instead, I want to share my love of dragons. Scottish dragons, to be specific. I have written many short stories and full-length books and even a series where a shape-shifting dragon is the star.

A dragon is not quite a dog, but my characters are characters that find romance in the most difficult situations. Romance is what I write and I want to share my writings with you.

Please check out Dragon Bites

The print book is also available

There is Still Time to Buy Books!

"Santa is on his way," we hear kids say but I am looking forward to many other 'adult-themed' things. December 22st is called the Winter Equinox and is the shortest day of the year. What does that mean to me? The days start getting longer on December 23rd!

The other thing I look forward to is sitting with my cat in front of the decorated mantel with a fire blazing.

While the weather turns blustery, I will also find time to read books. Print books are great, but my phone and I are happy to sit and use apps to bring ebooks to life. As my gift to you, I have greatly reduced the price of many of my holiday-themed ebooks including...

Heading out on his horse, Ghost, into the snowy Highlands of Scotland in January 1817 was not sane, but Bryce Ketteridge would never let down his friends. If a duke, an earl, and a former spy felt finding the owners of nobleman's rings was important, he would do his share. Coming across masked bandits, and shooting one, turned his life on end. What follows was not in his plans.

Ebook Reg. Price: $7.99 (US)

SALE: $5.99 (US)

Thankful for an American Tradition

I am an American writer and will be enjoying Thursday November 23, 2023. We traditionally celebrate an American tradition. It is not just another Thursday in a busy month. (I celebrated another birthday, Veteran's Day makes us thank our military, and some towns held municipal voting.)

It is a day filled with foods such as roast turkey, cranberry sauce, sweet potato casserole, and pies and has its origin based on the puritans and the indigenous people they met back in the early 17th century. The first Plimouth British Colony, which became Plymouth, Massachusetts, is steeped in history.

We recently have learned that my husband can trace his roots to several of the passengers on the Mayflower which landed in what would become America in 1620, including original signers of the Mayflower Compact. We have traced his lineage back to six people, and we are working on a possible seventh. Considering only 53 people survived until autumn 1621 to enjoy the first 'thanksgiving,' what they went through is an amazing story.

In 2021 and 2022 we traveled from North Carolina to Massachusetts to pay our respects at several graves at Burial Hill in Plymouth. Since finding out more about my husband's ancestry, we are taking this holiday a little more serious.

However you intend to celebrate the first Thanksgiving, when our country was only a British colony, stay safe and enjoy the week.

p.s. The Holiday Season officially starts Friday November 24th and I will start my promotions then. Ebooks make a great gift (they can easily be sent as gifts and arrive on the day you want them) so watch this blog for each varied announcement.

HAPPY HOGMANAY and Welcome to 2023

The biggest holiday of the year is just a memory, but with the New Year revelry just around the corner, now is the time to look back on another year.

2022 was filled with the continuation of a milder but still scary Covid pandemic. For me, I was busy writing. SANDY was released in May. Clan of Dragons boxed set came out in July. I was a contributor to The TAF Omnibus and Yuletide Kisses Medieval Christmas anthology. All this writing really kept me busy!

Let’s hope 2023 is happier, healthier, and just as productive. Bring on the bright lights, fireworks, and crowds…well, I will continue to keep my distance, but the future looks pretty bright.

After a family dinner on New Year’s Eve, I look forward to a quiet night watching TV here in Raleigh as the North Carolina Acorn drops, with quick channel changes to see how Time Square is doing.

Because of my part-Scottish heritage, which is why I write books with Scottish characters, I will celebrate Hogmanay (New Year's Eve) my way. Many of my books are on sale through Mid-January. Check them out HERE and enjoy!

Release Day and SALE for The Earl's Treasure by Nancy Lee Badger

My new release, The Earl's Treasure, is the first book in my series Treasure Tales. Here is a short description of the Historical Romance set in the weeks before Christmas in 1816:

After Stone is wounded and thrust into an earldom, and Adele is widowed by an abusive husband, these star-crossed childhood friends meet at an English country ball, escape a kidnapper searching for a treasure, and depart for Scotland ahead of those intent on killing anyone in their way.

PG Excerpt from this Steamy Full-length Novel

“Stone, ’tis not acceptable,” Adele said.

   “What are ye talking about?”

She turned and stepped away. “Stone, ye forget yerself. Please do not trifle with me. Yer kisses be…nice. Lovely, even, but I am not looking for a lover.”

“Why not me? Adele, my sweet, ye intrigue me one minute, exasperate me the next and then ye make me yearn to touch ye, smell ye, taste ye.”

“Wouldn’t any woman suffice? I am sure there are more than a few willing servants about. I watched them glance yer way, our first night here.”

“Truly?” He straightened his back, then strutted around the table like a peacock. “Nice to know I’m appreciated.”

“Is that what ye want? To be appreciated? Why haven’t ye settled down with a countess and raised a pack of future earls and lords? What of love?”

“Love? What does love have to do with anything?”

Adele fisted her hands by her sides, and strode closer to the fire. When he didn’t follow her, she suffered a moment of wistful indecision, as if her body said yes, while her mind said no. Would finding pleasure in Stone’s bed be so wrong? Widowed and possibly barren, what would be the harm? Rupert only gave her pain and restlessness. With fists and belts his punishment of choice, he used them whenever he returned home from his little treasure hunts.

“And now I be keeper of the treasure.” She fingered the velvet pouch between her breasts, confident the gem existed.

“Yer wrong,” Stone whispered. His arm circled her waist and he pulled her into his side. “Yer the treasure. I promise to keep ye safe.”

Nancy Lee Badger Presents Author Joanne Guidoccio

Joanne Guidoccio stopped by to share something exciting: she has reached out to readers during this pandemic and is spotlighted her Mediterranean Trilogy by offering a sale price on two ebooks. Take it away, Joanne!

Thanks, Nancy! In the Mediterranean Trilogy, which is paranormal romance released by Soul Mate Publishing, I feature the mermaids of the Bella tribe. In Book 1, Between Land and Sea, I follow Isabella on the road to reinvention. Having been brutally transformed into an overweight, middle-aged woman, Isabella struggles to reinvent herself as Barbara Davies.
After writing Between Land and Sea, I started to imagine more books involving the mermaids and ex-mermaids in the protagonist’s life. One night I dreamed of another mermaid, one not as kind and supportive as the characters in the first novel. The following day, a series of What if scenarios emerged: What if the new mermaid was somewhere on the Narcissist/Sociopath continuum? And what if she was determined to wreak havoc in everyone’s life?
In Book 2, The Coming of Arabella, Isabella/Barbara’s life is disrupted by the unexpected arrival of her beautifully preserved twin sister, Arabella.

Ideas are percolating for Book 3 – The Making of a Mermaid Psychic.

Inspirational Quotes from Between Land and Sea

“Your path will diverge for a while, but do not let that worry you. You have known difficulty before, but you will survive and thrive.”
“You must take responsibility for your own life and make full use of your gifts.”
“Your life has turned out the way it has for a reason. And now, you need to unearth that purpose and use it for your own good and the greater good.”
“You should be ready to take advantage of all opportunities that arise. Accept every invitation. Follow each whim. Some will work out, others won’t. But don’t give up.”
“Whatever you decide to keep hidden could implode later…with disastrous results.”

Inspirational Quotes from The Coming of Arabella

“Life is good, and I intend to enjoy all the abundance the universe sees fit to send my way.”
“The only magic that exists is the magic you create for yourself.”
“You are in the present season for a reason. It is your job to figure out why.”
“Set the intention and let the universe figure out the how.”
“No one, absolutely no one, can ruin your life unless you give that person the key to your inner soul.”
These ebooks will be on sale for
$0.99 (US)
March 29 to April 4
Blurb – Between Land and Sea
After giving up her tail for an international banker, Isabella of the Mediterranean kingdom is aged, weathered, and abandoned on the fog-drenched shores of southwest England. She faces her human journey as a plain and practically destitute fifty-three-year-old woman.

With the help of a magic tablet and online mermaid support, she reinvents herself as a career counselor, motivational speaker, and writer of self-help books. Along the way, she encounters a cast of unforgettable characters, among them former mermaids, supportive and not-so-supportive women, deserving and undeserving men, and several New Agers. As Isabella evolves into Barbara Davies, she embraces her middle-aged body, heals her bruised heart, and learns to love again.

This contemporary version of The Little Mermaid offers hope and inspiration to anyone who has been dumped, deceived, or demoted. It will also appeal to mermaid enthusiasts.

Blurb – The Coming of Arabella
On the day of her engagement party, an ex-mermaid’s life is disrupted by the unexpected arrival of another mermaid—a sister she has never known. Under normal circumstances, Barbara Davies would be overjoyed, but her special day is already wrought with tension. While Barbara is not the first mermaid from the Mediterranean kingdom to settle in small town Ontario, she has yet to reveal her origins to her fiancé. So, when Arabella, the gorgeous sister whose disturbing black eyes banished her to the island of Crete, saunters into her life, clutching the arm of Barbara’s discarded lover, a powder keg of emotion is released.

Relationships falter and careers stall as envy stirs in the hearts of the sisters. On the verge of meltdown after her fiancé leaves Canada for a teaching job in Vermont, Barbara flees to Arizona hoping for a reprieve. There, she finds solace at a retreat for ex-mermaids and a second chance at love with a charismatic preacher. As she contemplates a new life in the desert paradise of Sedona, shocking secrets emerge and tragedy strikes. A stronger and wiser Barbara rises up to face these new challenges and embrace the best parts of her mermaid heritage.
