Another Giveaway Saluting...KILTS and ART!

My latest release, Heaven-sent Highlander, takes place mainly in present-day North Carolina, centering at and around the fictitious Raleigh Museum of Art. This is the second book in my Warrior in Bronze series. I based my stories at the actual North Carolina Museum of Art (NCMA), but my unlikely hero is from another time. Alex sensed he died in a bloody battle on the fields of Culloden, in Scotland.

Since I just returned from the New Hampshire Highland Games, a huge Scottish festival that spans three days with dozens of kilted marching bands, hunky athletes, dainty dancers, Scottish food, and so much more, I decided to make up a prize that incorporates three worlds: Scotland, North Carolina, and New Hampshire!

Here is what this prize includes:
33 pg Scotland, Essential Guide/Map
Brochure describing NCMA
NCMA Museum Park Map (164 acres!)
Upcoming NYC Tartan Day Parade 2020 postcard
Upcoming Braemar Gathering 2020 postcard

Highland Games are NOT to be Missed!

I met a woman today at my local KFC Restaurant. Since I was wearing my new fleece jacket with the New Hampshire Highland Games logo on the left breast, she and I started talking about Highland games. These Scottish events take place in several North Carolina locations, and I recommended the Loch Norman Highland Games held ever spring at the Rural Hill Historic site in Huntersville, NC. For someone who has never attended one of these Scottish festivals, a small one like this one is perfect.

If you have a hankerin' to attend a Scottish festival, here are a few links to ones I have attended and recommend:

Historic Rural Hill

Loch Norman Highland Games

Grandfather Mountain Highland Games

Scotland County Highland Games

NH Highland Games and Festival

Quechee Scottish Festival and Celtic Fair

Maine Highland Games

Pugwash Highland Festival

2014 NH Highland Games Photos!

Please enjoy a few photos from my recent visit to the New Hampshire Highland Games & Festival, held every September at Loon Mountain Ski Area, in Lincoln, NH.*

Over cast, but the crowds started to arrive...

Dozens of Pipe & drum Bands entertained...

By Saturday, the cold weather did NOT keep the crowds away...

Hubby kept me warm while we volunteered beneath the Info tent
Many bands performed. Here is a short video I took...

To get on the mailing list so you do not miss NEXT year's games, please contact www.NHScot.org

*These games, and others I attend, are where I gather ideas for my books set at Highland Games

Happy Times in New England

A piper watches the competition at the 2012 NH Highland Games & Festival
I logged nearly 2000 miles in the car, recenty. My family and I drove to New England to volunteer at the annual New Hampshire Highland Games & Festival. Despite an awful bed and uncomfortable asphalt (those did a job on my feet and hips), we had a great time. Here are just a few of the sights:
The Gunn Clan in the Parade of Tartans

Lots of great Scottish food was available at the games!

Enjoy the moments!
